Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Visited pages and approximate time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help us see traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points, in aggregate form. A browser can block cookies, though doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Detecting and repairing technical problems
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Understanding which pages are useful or need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Ray County information remains with custodians such as the sheriff, the courts, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the selected partner's privacy terms, including its retention and sharing rules. Review those terms before submitting a query because we do not control the partner's practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, law-enforcement offices, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search tools. Once you leave this website, the destination's own privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on their systems and under their rules.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place content on the pages
- Search partners chosen to process a query
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect the information we handle. No internet system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such information is identified, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Missouri law includes the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, §407.020 RSMo. Public criminal-history access is separately governed by the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, and the dissemination rules in §43.507 RSMo. Subject to the law that applies to a request, you may:
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask what personal information we retain about you
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
- Object to certain processing activities
