Why We Built This Site
Missouri provides several public record channels, yet each answers a different question. Ray County booking information begins with the sheriff and the county Sunshine request route. The Criminal Circuit Clerk holds filed charges, docket events, judgments, and certified court documents. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Criminal Justice Information Services Division maintains the statewide Central Repository and publishes its official criminal-record check choices and Central Repository answers. State custody and supervision belong to the Missouri Department of Corrections, while registry searches run through the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. We organize the verified contacts, search methods, fees, and request steps without treating these separate systems as one database.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency contacts: verified routes to the Ray County Sheriff, Criminal Circuit Clerk, city police departments, and state systems
- Record guides: how to find and read Ray County criminal court cases
- Official check details: the differences between MACHS name searches and fingerprint-based Missouri record reviews, with the state's name-search tutorial and SHP-158 request form as primary sources
- Record relief information: where Missouri expungement petitions are filed and which official law and court form to review
Federal records remain separate. The FBI explains the fingerprint-based Identity History Summary and provides its electronic self-review portal. Federal cases associated with Ray County belong to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, while the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator covers federal custody. None replaces a Ray County court, booking, or Missouri repository record.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to a Missouri court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. Those boundaries mean we cannot:
- Issue certified court documents, criminal histories, or booking records
- Run an official background check or retrieve a record for a visitor
- Give legal advice about a charge, warrant, case, or expungement
- Submit a Sunshine request, court petition, or other filing for someone
- Guarantee that an office has not changed its hours, address, fee, or procedure
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Ray County Sheriff, the proper court clerk, or the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes found on some pages. They operate their own services, choose their prices, and control their results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this resource. We do not control a partner's data, matching process, charges, or result quality.
